Description	Abstract: This research identified important focus areas associated with the fields of Homeland Security and Emergency Management through a survey of the literature published in the well known online scholarly journal, Journal of Homeland security and Emergency Management between the years 2003 and 2011. Trends were observed including emergent themes as well as the lack thereof. The resulting knowledge will help build a roadmap for UMUC’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management curriculum enhancement.
